Tender Mercies

My dad was in an auto accident with a semi-truck.
He was driving home from Annabella, Utah, where he owns a home in the town where he grew up.
For reasons that we don't know, he was driving down the wrong side of the road.
After the collision, the truck driver ran to my dad's car to see how he was,
there was a man standing in my dad's car holding him up, and he held him up for
the 30 minutes it took for them to get him out of the car.  There were
many people we don't even know who stopped to give help.
He was then life-flighted to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
Matt was called when my dad arrived at the hospital and then Matt called me.
I drove down to the hospital and they had just finished doing a CAT scan and
inserting a chest tube in his left side for his collapsed lung.
Utah Valley Regional Medical Center
First night right after he got to his room, visible injuries
Injuries-micro fracture of C7 and T1 vertebrae, fractured sternum, 2 fractured
ribs on each side, collapsed left lung, broken left femur.

They plan on surgery first thing in the morning to put pins in his femur.  We are so very
lucky that his injuries are all things that can mend over time.
We are so grateful for the tender mercies of those strangers who stopped to help and
give aid to my dad at this time.
